THE RIGOBERTO STORY

In a Soccer Made In America training program, Coach Aleks identifies a shy, young boy who lived with a single mom, sister, and several other family members in a low-income home. With the help of the Chicago Blast Soccer Club community and the SAFE Foundation, 11-year-old Rigo, his Mom, and his sister were able to relocate to a new apartment in Hinsdale, Illinois. Rigo and his sister played with the Chicago Blast Soccer Club for several years. Under the guidance and support of coach Aleks, Rigo was selected to become a part of the U-15 U.S. National Team.  Rigo was awarded a full athletic scholarship at Liberty University where he graduated with honors. His sister Yazmin also continued to the next level, playing collegiately at  Robert Morris University.
